Abstract
Today, the prevalence of obesity has become an epidemic worldwide and has become the biggest nutritional problem. It has been accepted that the obesity epidemic is due to an environment called "obesogenic" that encourages excessive food consumption and limits physical activity. In addition, genetic factors and psychological problems are also effective factors in the development of obesity. Obesity; It is effective in the development of many health problems such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome. Given the limited success of therapeutic interventions to treat obesity and metabolic syndrome, there is increasing interest in preventive strategies. Interdisciplinary collaboration targeting families, schools, and local communities is needed to facilitate behavioral changes that affect children's and adolescents' eating behaviors and habits.
