Abstract

The risk of chronic diseases due to nutritional problems is increasing day by day worldwide. Increasing dietary quality from childhood is very important for the protection and development of health. Although the term nutrition literacy is a concept that has gained great importance in recent years, its importance is increasing day by day. Nutrition literacy refers to the ability to acquire, understand and use food-related information in its simplest form. It is important and necessary for the protection of health to develop national policies that support nutrition literacy in order to improve nutritional habits and food preferences and to implement these policies effectively. Adequate and balanced nutrition; It is essential to maintain the right policies on many issues such as purchasing, food choice, food preparation and cooking skills, and to improve the level of nutritional literacy. Maintaining the right policies on many issues such as adequate and balanced nutrition, purchasing, food selection, food preparation and cooking skills is essential for improving the level of nutrition literacy. In this section, it is aimed to discuss the policies implemented at the national and international level in the context of nutrition literacy.
